Are you a medical doctor? No, I am a board-certified family nurse practitioner (FNP-BC), not a medical doctor. As an FNP, I am licensed and trained to diagnose, treat, and manage a wide range of health conditions, prescribe medications, and order diagnostic tests. My role allows me to provide comprehensive care, much like a doctor, but with a focus on patient-centered care and preventative health. In my practice at Solara Functional Wellness, I combine my training as an FNP with functional medicine principles. This approach emphasizes identifying and addressing the root causes of illness, rather than simply managing symptoms. My goal is to work closely with each patient to create personalized treatment plans that optimize their health, using a combination of advanced diagnostics, nutrition, and lifestyle changes to promote long-term wellness.
-
Do you prescribe medications? While I am licensed to prescribe medications as a family nurse practitioner, I focus primarily on using natural, noninvasive methods at Solara Functional Wellness. My approach includes nutritional therapy, herbs, supplements, stress management techniques, and lifestyle changes to address the root causes of disease and promote optimal health. I do not replace your primary care provider, and I can work collaboratively with your prescribing medical doctor to manage any necessary medications. If a prescription is necessary to support your health and wellness goals, it will be considered on a case-by-case basis and individualized to each patient’s unique needs.
-
Do you accept insurance? While some testing and services may be covered by insurance, most of our offerings at Solara Functional Wellness are considered elective and go beyond the standard care typically covered by insurance companies. We believe in making functional medicine accessible and do our best to ensure affordability for our patients.
-
Do you work with patients outside of Florida?Currently, I am licensed to work with patients within the state of Florida. However, I do plan to expand Solara Functional Wellness to offer functional medicine services to patients in other states in the future. Stay tuned for updates as we continue to grow!

How long will my wellness journey take? The length of your wellness journey depends on several factors, including the complexity of your condition, how long you've been dealing with it, and the time and effort you’re willing to invest in your health. Typically, our initial care plans at Solara Functional Wellness last around 4-6 months, and many clients start seeing improvements within the first month. After completing the initial plan, some patients choose to continue with maintenance visits a few times a year to sustain their progress and long-term health.
-
How much will functional medicine cost?At Solara Functional Wellness, the cost of care is individualized based on each patient’s unique health needs and long-term goals. Factors such as the extent of lab testing, recommended treatments, and the number of telehealth visits all contribute to the overall cost. Payment plans are available to accommodate different needs and budgets, ensuring that patients can focus on achieving lasting wellness.
